What I'm writing: The sequel to The Dementia, original novel. It's about the generation ship Peace, where everything fell spectacularly apart after the events of the first novel, and Jacks and Antony are trying to keep the ship's life support going while society falls apart around them. I'm at 92,000 words and closing in on the end of the first draft.
What I'm reading: Blue Lightening by Ann Cleeves, the fourth of her Shetland murder mysteries. I can't do tension right now, so I am spoiled for the ending. It's not my favorite of the books so far, but still giving me the Shetland vibes I'm craving. I have read pretty much every Jimmy/Duncan fic on AO3 (bless small fandom writers), and while the books aren't scratching that particular itch, I'm still enjoying them.
What I'm watching:
1. Shetland season 5 (very slowly, also spoiled for it) I think I like the show better than the books. Likely because it has the slash ship vibes whereas the books are very het, which I'm not against either, but well, you know me.
2. Delicious in Dungeon (for the second time with Husband) We finished watching and then immediately started it again. It's anime, hilarious, brilliant, and has a lot of heart. It's set in a overt D&D setting, with a party of adventurers exploring a famous dungeon. The story starts when they need to go rescue one of their magic-users from a dragon, except after the initial encounter with the dragon, the rest of them escaped via a transportation spell, and they lost their supplies and their money. So they decide they're going to eat monsters as they descend to find their friend. It's great.
What I'm excited about watching: Murderbot! We have a watch party with friends on Sunday and I'm so excited!
